Ba Ria - Vung Tau accelerates the project connecting Long Thanh Airport with Ho Tram
With the goal of achieving 10% GRDP growth in 2025, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province is focusing on attracting investment into key economic sectors and accelerating infrastructure development.
On March 18, Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà worked with leaders of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province on the socio-economic development situation, public investment disbursement, and local obstacles and difficulties in the first months of 2025.
Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà highly appreciated Ba Ria - Vung Tau's efforts in administrative reform, improving the investment environment, and accelerating transportation infrastructure projects. At the same time, he requested ministries and sectors to closely coordinate to resolve recommendations related to open port mechanisms, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway, and the upgrade of Con Dao Airport.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the province to urgently implement the project connecting Long Thanh Airport to Ho Tram with an optimal route, linking development areas according to the TOD model.
ATTRACTING INVESTMENT AND PROMOTING INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
According to the People's Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, with the goal of GRDP growth (excluding crude oil and gas) of 10% in 2025, the province is focusing on implementing key tasks and solutions such as: promoting the growth of production and consumption of key industrial products (steel products, metal structures, electricity, fertilizer); improving the efficiency of seaport exploitation, especially modernizing the Cai Mep - Thi Vai international gateway port; stimulating consumption, developing e-commerce and effective new business models; …
In the first 2 months of 2025, the province achieved growth in 8 out of 10 economic indicators compared to the same period in 2024. These included industrial production value (excluding oil and gas), agriculture, fisheries, forestry; retail sales of goods, accommodation services, tourism, transportation, warehousing, and support services. Total budget revenue reached VND 17,821 billion (up 7.36%).
